Basic sudoku rules

If you are not yet familiar with Sudoku, we briefly explain the basic rules:

A square is divided in 9 by 9 little squares called cells and 3 by 3 cell groups called segments like in this picture which shows a sudoku puzzle.

Sudoku-Puzzle

Some cells contain a number from 1 to 9.
The object of the Puzzle is to fill all blank cells with a number 1 to 9 such that each number appears only once in all horizontal rows, vertical columns and 3x3 segments of the Sudoku grid like in this picture which shows a sudoku solution

Sudoku-Solution

Now you know the basic rules of Sudoku you may want to try some easy and more difficult ones on http://www.sudoku.gs/ .

Once you have solved some Sudokus you may be interested to get more and different variants like for instance the Samurai Sudoku.

Samurai Sudoku

The Samurai Sudoku is a network of Sudokus that are connected to each others via the corner segments. A five Sudoku Samurai network is given in the following picture.

Sudoku-Samurai

The same rules apply as with the single Sudoku but now you have to encounter five linked Sudokus. This is not necessarily more difficult then a single Sudoku, but certainly gives more puzzle entertainment.

Now you are familiar with Sudoku and Samurai Sudoku you can try to solve the Sudoku-Ball.

Sudoku-Ball

Sudoku-Ball has like the Samurai Sudoku a linked Sudoku network, but there are 14 Sudokus and the network is closed in all directions around the ball.

Some tips to be sure that you get a beautiful ball when you have solved a physical ball entirely (does not apply to the online version): use the included erasable Sudoku-Ball-pen to try and make pencil mark notes and use the permanent number stamps when you are absolutely sure about a cell’s value.

The result (after a couple of hours play) will be a nice coloured ball that you can show-off with at your friends, colleagues and family or perhaps give to your children for outdoor play.

Have fun!!!!!
